UPDATED - LAUREAN IN O.C. JAIL — Laurean Watch - Day 1 (of one, I hope)
UPDATED
Laurean was delievered to the Onslow County Jail at 8:05 p.m. by Sheriff’s Inspector Rick Sutherland and other members of law enforcement.
He appeared before a magistrate and was booked.
————————————————————————
Okay, strange is becoming surreal.
I have heard from a source close to the investigation that Laurean is headed for Miami, not Houston.
I don’t know whether the change is because of weather or for security reasons.
I do know a lot of people would just like to hear he is on U.S. soil.
I got some errands to run, so it will probably happen while I am out, but if the AP or one of the big boys don’t have a photographer or camera man around when he gets back - whereever he gets back - that would be a shame.
Do we get this guy: Or this guy:

LK , I read the following report , is the process federally based or does State Law play into it
Hudson says, “He will be carried before a judicial official of the state of Texas and at that time he can either waive extradition or if he decides not to waive extradition then we will have to file for a governors warrant.“
If Laurean fights extradition from Texas it will certainly slow the process down.
Reporter: “Hudson says it could be a week or even up to a month before Cesar Laurean is booked here in the Onslow County Jail.“

Update: A source close to the investigation confirms that Laurean has left Mexico.

LK
I too have been informed by an informed source that Cesar Laurean has “vamosed” from Mexico and is heading North of the Boder.

MSNBC reports that Laurean has landed in Miami.
Now they’re covering a small plane crash in Broward County (FL).
(On a side note, why is it that all the anti-spam words I type have to do with food?)

Can’t wait to see a picture of what he looks like now.

I am just beyond thrilled that this POS is actually back on U. S. soil!
Let’s see how long his lawyer can keep him from going to trial. That is what he will do, IMO, so he can milk his status and facetime as long as he possibly can.

What’s up with this?

“Laurean and Lauterbach worked together at nearby Camp Lejeune. She had accused him of rape, although tests showed he wasn’t the father of her unborn child.”

From Off the Cuff, exactly one year ago
“A reliable source inside the federal investigation has told me there is a very strong possibility that Cesar Laurean is not the father of Maria Lauterbach’s unborn child. In fact, officials are pretty sure he is not.”

Lindell, remember, McNeil actually mentioned the coverage in “The News” as part of the reason for considering a change of venue!!!! Now, that’s journalism at its finest. Someone has to sound the bell of warning!!!! I seriously doubt a change of venue will do much because, as Sheriff Ed said, “Earthwide” is the name of the game and Cesar is a household word in many homes, not just in Onslow.
Actually, Onslow might be the very best place. Who knows what citizens of other counties might do?
Why, Cesar might just be on a plane or in a van right now!

Anyway, about the father part, it won’t be part of the legal proceedings because he hasn’t ever been charged with rape. Even a positive paternity wouldn’t be proof positive of rape.
Looks like Onslow will be in charge of the whole thing.
McNeil has an awsome track record and will do his best. I am glad of that because that good old Constitution is second to none, and guarantees certain rights. I like to know that we can be honorable in ALL situations. No matter how black the night of evidence appears we have to abide by the rules. I think McNeil will make the DA prove every tiny shred and thread of accusation.

Having one point person will be great.
Concerning “I think McNeil will make the DA prove every tiny shred and thread of accusation.”
I know your right however I hope this does not turn into “12 Angry Men”
I hope the prosecutions explains REASONABLE DOUBT, lets face it What If’s apply to all circumstances.
Question, If Sheriff Brown Rod is successfully proven to be Un-law Use, would the evidence of the body be thrown out?
If Christiana information needs thrown out (even though I am sure they would have gone to the house and found Maria) Would the search Warrant be consider invalid?

While “Big Ed” is certainly a buffoon, he didn’t do anything illegal.

Hi there Hello. Good to read your comments again. Well, you bring up a fascinating point. If the body was ‘inadmissable,’ would we even have a case? Now, Dick McNeil seems to be very competent indeed, but I don’t think even he can magic away bodies!!!!!
Divining isn’t illegal, even though it brought a huge amount of interest and comment. I have read comments where people thought that even without the divining rod it would have been easy to see the crevice in the back yard. Of course, after a hot and dry spell, and a bit of rain, it is not unusual to get cracks in the ground, but it is more likely to get that sort of thing when there has already been some ‘ground disturbance.’
As far as my opinion is concerned, I wish every Sheriff everywhere had respect for the taxpayers’ dollars. Sheriff Ed’s coathanger/divining rod didn’t cost a dime. AND, thrifty thrifty, it could probably be bent back into shape for a coathanger once again!!!!!
With Cesar on the way to Onslow, I wonder if they will bring him in in some sort of ‘tradesman’s van’ or something in order to avoid crowds and confusion. We know this is a wily bird, let’s hope he doesn’t find a way to fly the coop as he gets out of one vehicle and into the cells!!!!

BTW Hello, if the ‘notes’ are inadmissable there’s got to be something more that LE has that places Cesar at the scene. We shall see.

ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (WECT) - Marine Cpl. Cesar Laurean landed at Wilmington International Airport just after 7:00 Firday night.

Grant it that the body could not be dismissed however what might be the strategy of the defense to question the technique, seemed dumb to me but I am sure he has a reason.
I agree with the comments concerning finding the body, The grave IMO was a NO BRAINER, but then again, it’s important to the defense.
Any Insight?
I can’t help but think about other high profile cases that key evidence was not admissible in court and the prosecutor, victim and witness became the victims of the process. We have already heard the case against Maria and the Family, Sheriff Brown , a ton of band wagons about everyone except Cesar. Cesar has the appearance of shock that he would have committed such a crime and I don’t buy it.

Hi there Hello. I wonder if McNeil was kind of joking, or, more chillingly, there just might be something about being on someone else’s property, and HOW you find evidence.
If, without a search warrant, police raid a private home and find all sorts of illegal items, I think it may not be admissible because of how they got the stuff.
I believe there was something in the Greta Tour video about all this and how the Sheriff came to be in the backyard. There may also be something in there about where Cesar and Maria were supposed to have talked. For some reason I think Christina had the impression that they were in the yard. Of course, who in his right mind WOULD tell the wifey that someone was actually in the house? Of course, ‘right mind’ is quite a debatable point sometimes!!!!
