deputy rumor control
By default, it once again falls to me to perform a little rumor control.
Yes, I am aware a deputy resigned from the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office the same day The Daily News published a recent report on the sheriff’s collection from deputies of their private cellphones.
Said deputy’s resignation has nothing to do with the current situation at the Sheriff’s Office. The now former deputy has been ensnared in legal wranglings instigated by one of his ex-wives. Somehow the deputy also now faces a criminal count of obtaining property by false pretense stemming from an incident nearly two decades ago.
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
I’ve dealt this deputy’s ex-wife before. After the experience, I am not a bit surprised at the woes the deputy now faces. I’m just surprised that a prosecutor went along for the ride with her…

2 decades, isn’t that 20 yrs? What happened to the statute of limitations, or is that just one of the pesky technacaltie big ed doesn’t worry about. Come to think about it, what happened to “innoncent until proven gulity”?
